Illinois Neurodiversity Initiative (I-N-I)
INI is a program for admitted University of Illinois students who identify with any neurodivergent condition. INI promotes the success of its students from orientation through graduation. Our goal is to ensure college success leading to employment through academic, social, mental health, and job readiness support.
I-N-I INFORMATION
A WEEK IN THE LIFE
Each week, students participate in an INI course, study hall opportunity, mental health support, and social night. The weekly schedule is designed to compliment academic and social pursuits and build skills needed for success. Each promote a sense of community and closeness within and between cohorts.
COURSE OFFERINGS
INI has developed for-credit courses to be taken each semester. Course content is designed to equip students for a successful college career that leads to their desired outcome: employment or graduate school. Read about our classes on the Program Information page.
FUNDING SOURCES
INI is a fee-based program and receives funding from the University of Illinois College of ACES, the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, and a yearly gift from State Farm. We are thankful for the Illinois Autism Program (TAP) for funding our beginning efforts. Please inquire about fee waivers and scholarships.
